Service interruption and SSRF via recursive ESI includes
Published Jul 29, 2026 · Updated Jul 29, 2026
Uncontrolled recursion in Apache Traffic Server's ESI plugin allows remote attackers to interrupt service through crafted ESI responses. The plugin processes nested esi:include elements without an effective recursion bound and performs server-side fetches for attacker-supplied source URLs. The optional plugin must be enabled and process attacker-influenced ESI content; affected releases are 8.0.0 through 8.1.9, 9.0.0 through 9.2.14, and 10.0.0 through 10.1.3.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=10.0.0 <=10.1.3
