Remote code execution via loopback trust bypass
Published Jun 30, 2026 · Updated Jun 30, 2026
Authentication bypass in Data Intelligence Lab @ HKU Vibe-Trading before 0.1.10 allows remote attackers to execute commands via DNS rebinding. The FastAPI authentication boundary accepts a loopback TCP peer as local without validating Host, so rebound browser requests skip bearer-token checks. A victim must visit an attacker-controlled page; a bash-enabled preset then grants code execution as the API process user, while settings writes expose credentials.
