Unauthenticated SYSTEM execution via remoting DLL hijack
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Remote code execution in Hyland PACSgear PACS Scan 5.2.1 allows remote attackers to execute code as SYSTEM through TCP port 22222. PGImageExchQueue.exe registers the PGImageExchange ObjectURI on all interfaces without authentication, exposing arbitrary file read and write operations. Writing a missing DLL beside PGImageExchangeQueueSvc.exe yields SYSTEM execution only after an administrator or service failure restarts the service.
