Out-of-bounds write in FreeBSD ppp(8) before 14.4-RELEASE-p9, before 15.0-RELEASE-p13, or before 15.1-RELEASE-p3 allows remote attackers to crash it. LcpDecodeConfig() accepts endpoint discriminator options shorter than RFC 1717's minimum and writes beyond the intended buffer while decoding them. The gate is a malicious PPP peer reaching a running ppp(8) instance; the documented outcomes are a process crash or arbitrary code execution as root.
