Stored XSS via raw log parameters
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Stored XSS in Wikimedia Foundation MediaWiki allows remote authenticated users to inject executable HTML into formatted log entries. The LogFormatter parameter parser treats formats such as 4:raw:foo as raw HTML and inserts a user-controlled parameter without output escaping. Exploitation requires a path that passes user-controlled data into a raw log parameter and another user to view the affected log output in a browser.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
