Authenticated code execution via unsafe log parameter deserialization
Published Jul 1, 2026 · Updated Jul 1, 2026
Unsafe deserialization in affected MediaWiki releases allows remote authenticated users to execute code through imported log entries. LogEntryBase::extractParams() passes imported log_params data to PHP unserialize() without blocking arbitrary object instantiation. The path requires log-entry import permission, and code execution additionally requires a usable object gadget chain.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=* <1.46.0, 1.45.4, 1.44.6, 1.43.9
