CVE-2026-58006

EL3 memory corruption via unchecked mailbox pointer

Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026

Untrusted pointer dereference in Altera Arm Trusted Firmware-A through socfpga_v2.14.0 allows local users to corrupt EL3 secure memory. The BL31 mailbox path writes response data through a caller-supplied output pointer without first confining that pointer to non-secure memory. A caller must reach the HPS mailbox service from a lower exception level; the write can corrupt protected firmware state or interrupt the device.
