Unauthenticated quiz-result access via shortcode execution
Published Apr 17, 2026 · Updated Apr 17, 2026
Shortcode injection in ExpressTech Systems Quiz and Survey Master 11.1.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute registered shortcodes. Quiz answer text retains shortcode brackets after sanitize_text_field() and htmlspecialchars(), and do_shortcode() then evaluates the rendered results page containing those answers. No authentication is required to submit the answer, and the unprotected qsm_result shortcode can return another user's submission.
