CVE-2026-57961Network attack vector

Authenticated file-read attempts via PDF path traversal

Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026

Path traversal in phpMyFAQ before 4.1.5 allows remote authenticated users with FAQ editing privileges to attempt local file reads via PDF export. concatenatePaths() casts a failed strpos() result to zero, preserves the crafted path, and passes it to file_get_contents() without canonicalization or containment validation. Exploitation requires FAQ editing privileges and PDF generation; public evidence confirms attempted reads but not reliable disclosure of arbitrary file contents.
