Profile modification via missing session UID comparison
Published Jun 29, 2026 · Updated Jun 29, 2026
Broken access control in PhotoPrism before 260601-a7d098548 allows remote authenticated users to alter another user's profile details. The PUT /api/v1/users/{uid} handler accepts AccessOwn/ActionUpdate, resolves the path UID, and mutates that account without comparing it to the session user's UID. A non-admin account is required; privileged fields remain separately protected, so the flaw does not enable privilege escalation or session takeover.
