External path control in Asseco Data Systems proCertum SmartSign before 9.4.3.90 allows attackers to execute local files. The application opens an untrusted Certificate Practice Statement URI from a signer's certificate without validating its scheme, allowing file URIs to reach the operating system. Exploitation requires a victim to open the attacker-signed document; the result is execution of a referenced local executable or opening of an arbitrary webpage.
