Uncontrolled resource consumption in Apache Kerby before 2.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to crash clients or services via ASN.1 input. The kerby-asn1 parser recursively decodes attacker-controlled nested structures without a depth bound, exhausting the Java thread stack and raising StackOverflowError. Reachability requires a Kerby client or service to parse the crafted structure; the exception interrupts availability without reported data disclosure or modification.
