Authenticated code execution via unsafe ZIP extraction
Published Aug 25, 2026 · Updated Aug 25, 2026
Path traversal in Crater Invoice 6.0.6 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute code through a crafted update archive. The updater's unzip method passes attacker-controlled ZIP entry names to ZipArchive::extractTo() without blocking ../ traversal outside its temporary directory. Company-owner access is required; placing a PHP file in the web-accessible public directory yields server-side command execution.
