CVE-2026-5766Network attack vector

Service degradation via understated ASGI upload length

Published May 5, 2026 · Updated May 5, 2026

Denial of service in Django 5.2 before 5.2.14 and 6.0 before 6.0.5 allows remote attackers to degrade ASGI services via file uploads. MemoryFileUploadHandler trusts the declared Content-Length to decide whether to buffer an upload, although an ASGI body can exceed that value. An exposed ASGI upload path without an effective web-server body limit lets unauthenticated requests load oversized files into memory and exhaust service resources.
