Unauthorized child-theme creation via missing form nonce
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Cross-site request forgery in Child Theme Wizard 1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to trigger unauthorized child-theme creation. The administrative creation form accepts state-changing submissions without validating a CSRF nonce, then writes a child theme for the selected parent theme. Exploitation requires a logged-in WordPress administrator to visit a crafted page or submit an attacker-controlled form, and the supported impact is unauthorized theme creation rather than code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
