Unauthorized protection changes via unchecked post IDs
Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026
Authorization bypass in WP Folio LLC PPWP 1.9.19 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter protection on posts and pages. The ppw_free_set_password handler and REST settings endpoints trusted user-supplied post IDs without verifying the edit_post capability for each target. Contributor-level access is sufficient to change password-protection settings on content the account cannot edit, causing limited integrity loss.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
