CVE-2026-57583

Generated-source injection via unfiltered line terminators

Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026

Code injection in OpenZeppelin Contracts Wizard packages allows attackers to alter generated smart-contract source through crafted metadata. The shared setInfo path writes info.securityContact and info.license verbatim into single-line comments, so a line terminator ends the comment and emits following input as declarations. Exploitation requires an integration to populate either field from untrusted input and a user to consume the output; normal self-service use does not cross that trust boundary, and no code executes on a Wizard service.
