Authenticated service hang via oversized content metadata
Published Sep 22, 2026 · Updated Sep 22, 2026
Resource exhaustion in plone.app.dexterity and plone.app.contenttypes allows remote authenticated users to hang a Plone site. Dexterity title and description fields and the Image/File filename field accept values without the patched length limits, leaving oversized content expensive to load and unwieldy to edit or delete. Any authenticated account permitted to create affected content can trigger the service interruption through ordinary content creation.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
