Administrator access retention via stale token roles
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Privilege retention in FileRise before 3.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to regain administrator access via persistent login tokens. The config.php auto-login path restores isAdmin from the token rather than users.txt, and the AuthModel token-consumption method carries that stale flag into replacement tokens. Possession of a token issued before administrator demotion permits continued user management, password resets, and security-setting changes.
