MFA bypass via password-only WebDAV authentication
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
TOTP bypass in error311 FileRise before 3.16.0 allows remote authenticated users to access files through WebDAV without a second factor. The public/webdav.php Basic authentication callback treats AuthModel::authenticate() success as sufficient and discards the returned TOTP state instead of enforcing verification. Exploitation requires administrator-enabled WebDAV and valid credentials for a TOTP-enabled account; file reading, modification, and deletion remain bounded by that account's WebDAV permissions.
