Authentication bypass via unchecked proxy-header source
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Authentication bypass in FileRise before 3.16.0 allows remote attackers to gain administrator access through proxy-header login. The AUTH_BYPASS block in config/config.php creates a session from the identity header without validating the request source against FR_TRUSTED_PROXIES. Exploitation requires enabled proxy-header authentication and an untrusted path to the backend, granting the asserted account's access without password or MFA verification.
