Process crash via unchecked attribute-field comparisons
Published Oct 16, 2026 · Updated Oct 16, 2026
NULL dereference in PUPnP libupnp before 2.0.2 allows remote attackers to crash applications through attacker-controlled XML. In ixml/src/node.c, ixmlNode_compare passes nullable nodeValue, namespaceURI, prefix, and localName fields directly to strcmp when comparing distinct same-named attributes. Exploitation requires application XML handling to reach ixmlElement_removeAttributeNode; the result is a process crash, not data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
