CVE-2026-57451

Memory disclosure and crash via unchecked property count

Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Vim before 9.2.0670 allows attackers to disclose adjacent memory or crash the editor through a crafted undo file. get_text_props() trusts an inline uint16 count as the number of following 32-byte textprop_T entries without checking the available line-buffer length. Exploitation requires 'undofile' to be enabled, the user to open the paired source and undo files and invoke undo, and a consumer to inspect the restored line.
