CVE-2026-57441Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Sensitive metadata exposure and modification via path equivalence

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

Path equivalence errors in bitbonsai MCPVault before 0.11.4 allow remote attackers to read or modify restricted vault metadata. PathFilter compares case-sensitive, noncanonical path segments, while macOS and Windows resolve case variants and Windows ignores trailing dots or spaces. Exploitation requires influence over a path submitted by an MCP client or AI agent and is limited to files reachable through the configured vault.
