Stored XSS via unsanitized iframe source URL
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Stored XSS in Star Citizen Wiki EmbedVideo before 4.1.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript via a malformed video URL. With $wgEmbedVideoRequireConsent disabled, getUrl() supplies an unsanitized URL to an iframe src attribute, where a double quote escapes the attribute and injects an event handler. The nondefault setting and permission to edit a page are required; injected code executes automatically in the wiki origin for every visitor to the page.
