CVE-2026-57432

Heap-memory disclosure via pack template integer overflow

Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Perl 5.43.10 and earlier allows attackers to read heap memory via an attacker-controlled pack or unpack template. S_measure_struct multiplies item size by an unchecked repeat count, wraps its signed total negative, and lets position-code bounds checks advance past the buffer. Exploitation requires an application to use attacker-controlled template data; typical hardcoded templates do not expose the read.
