Site takeover via unauthenticated form import
Published Jul 13, 2026 · Updated Jul 13, 2026
Missing authorization in Phil Kurth Advanced Forms 1.9.3.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to overwrite forms without authentication. The admin-post.php form import handler accepts unauthenticated uploads without checking edit_pages or a nonce, then selects the target by its public form key and stores attacker-controlled description content. Knowledge of a publicly visible form key is sufficient to overwrite that form and inject stored cross-site scripting that executes for site administrators, enabling site takeover.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
