Arbitrary code execution via corrupted Popup variables

Type confusion in Foxit PDF Editor and PDF Reader for Windows allows attackers to execute arbitrary code through a crafted PDF. After embedded JavaScript destroys a page annotation, the parser uses corrupted or improperly initialized Popup variables without validation. Opening the document is required, and parsing can execute code in the current process or crash it; affected releases are PDF Editor 13.2.4 and earlier, 14.0.4 and earlier, and 2026.1.1 and earlier, plus PDF Reader 2026.1.1 and earlier.
