Code execution via invalid annotation-object release
Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026
Invalid-pointer release in Foxit PDF Editor and PDF Reader for Windows allows attackers to execute code via a crafted PDF. Embedded JavaScript modifies annotation attributes, while insufficient object-type, bounds, and parameter-consistency checks corrupt annotation state before an invalid pointer or reference is released. Opening the crafted PDF is required; successful exploitation executes code in the local user's application context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
