Code execution via stale page-object dereference
Published Jul 8, 2026 · Updated Jul 8, 2026
Use-after-free in Foxit PDF Editor and Foxit PDF Reader for Windows allows attackers to execute code when a crafted JavaScript PDF is opened. Form-modifying JavaScript can change page state while related objects lack complete lifecycle and null validation, causing repeated dereferences of invalid objects. Opening the document is required; affected releases can crash or execute code in the application's context.
