Process crash via truncated NodeSet index
Published Jun 25, 2026 · Updated Jun 25, 2026
Out-of-bounds read in Nokogiri before 1.19.4 allows remote attackers to crash CRuby applications via an attacker-controlled NodeSet index. Nokogiri::XML::NodeSet#[] and #slice compare a 32-bit-truncated index with the node-set bounds, then use the original full-width negative index to read outside storage. Exploitation requires a consuming application to pass an attacker-controlled integer; JRuby returns an incorrect node without memory-unsafe impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
