Administrative access via missing JWT identity validation
Published Oct 15, 2026 · Updated Oct 15, 2026
Authentication bypass in Erudika Scoold before 1.69.1 allows remote attackers with a signing secret to read configuration and server logs. ScooldUtils.checkApiAuth() accepts JWTs signed with app_secret_key or para_secret_key without a registered API-key jti and assigns administrative API_USER privileges to /api/config and /api/stats requests. These endpoint exceptions operate even when scoold.api_enabled is false and expose privileged configuration functionality; an ordinary login-session token is insufficient.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
