Victim login as attacker via unbound resume token
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Session fixation in Python Social Auth Core before 5.0.0 allows remote attackers to authenticate a victim's browser as the attacker's account. The partial-pipeline resume path accepts partial_token as a bearer credential without verifying that the resuming browser owns the session that created it. Exploitation requires an application with a resumable partial step, a valid attacker-created token and verification data, and victim interaction with the crafted resume flow.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
