CVE-2026-57165Network attack vectorHinoki check available

Pre-authentication crash via unchecked history redraw

Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026

Stack buffer overflow in Teluu PJPROJECT 2.17 and earlier allows remote attackers to crash applications through telnet CLI history recall. handle_up_down() in cli_telnet.c appends cursor movement, command clearing, and recalled history data into a fixed PJ_CLI_MAX_CMDBUF stack buffer without bounds checks. Only applications with the unauthenticated telnet CLI enabled are exposed, and the reported added impact is process termination because that CLI already accepts arbitrary commands.
