CVE-2026-57157Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Server crash via unterminated camera channel names

Published Jul 10, 2026 · Updated Jul 10, 2026

Out-of-bounds reads in FreeRDP before 3.28.0 allow remote attackers to crash camera-enabled RDP servers with crafted channel messages. The RDPECAM device-added and device-removed handlers scan attacker-controlled DeviceName and VirtualChannelName fields to the stream bound, then dereference the end pointer without confirming that a NUL terminator was found. A connected RDP client can reach the flaw only when the server enables and polls the camera device enumerator channel; a buffer-filling message causes a 1- or 2-byte heap over-read and can crash the process.
