Unauthenticated identity forgery via default JWT secret
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Authentication bypass in PraisonAI Platform 0.1.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to impersonate arbitrary users via forged JWTs. AuthService assigns a public HS256 development key when PLATFORM_JWT_SECRET is unset, while the production guard treats an unset PLATFORM_ENV as development and _verify_token accepts attacker-selected identity claims. Exploitation requires network access to the platform API and both environment settings to remain unset, granting the forged identity access to protected routes.
