Author-level stored XSS via unescaped location_dir
Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026
Stored XSS in ShortPixel Enable Media Replace 4.1.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via location_dir. UploadViewController reads the location_dir request value and passes it to the replacement screen, which renders it without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Author-level access is required, and injected scripts execute in the browser whenever a user opens the affected page.
