Host code execution via Function constructor escape
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Sandbox escape in PraisonAI 1.4.0 through 1.7.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code in the host Node.js process. The codeMode tool passes untrusted JavaScript to new Function inside with(sandbox), while a denylist and shadowed globals leave object constructors able to recover the real Function. Control of codeMode input is required; escaped code inherits the Node.js process privileges and can read secrets, modify files, spawn commands, or stop the process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
