Mailbox compromise via unescaped IMAP search parameters
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
IMAP command injection in praisonaiagents before 1.6.59 allows remote authenticated users to read, alter, or delete mailbox data. The email tool directly interpolates LLM-controlled from_addr, subject, query, and message identifiers into double-quoted IMAP SEARCH criteria without escaping. Exploitation requires an email-enabled agent configured with valid mailbox credentials and lets crafted prompts modify IMAP operations or terminate the connection.
