CVE-2026-57111Network attack vector

Administrative endpoint access via permissive CORS headers

Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Permissive CORS in Apache Helix REST 2.0.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to read and invoke administrative REST endpoints. The CORSFilter unconditionally combines Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * with credential allowance and reflects arbitrary requested methods and headers in preflight responses. Exploitation requires an authorized user to visit an attacker-controlled page, which can then read responses and issue administrative requests with that user's browser context.
