Local privilege escalation via RRAS heap overflow
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
A heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Windows RRAS allows local users with low privileges to elevate privileges on an affected system. Microsoft has not published the affected RRAS function, input path, or the exact bounds error that writes beyond the heap buffer. Successful exploitation requires prior local authorization and grants elevated control over the affected Windows system without user interaction.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
