Remote code execution via srvnet.sys use-after-free
Published Jul 14, 2026 · Updated Jul 14, 2026
Use-after-free in srvnet.sys in affected Microsoft Windows releases allows remote attackers to execute code through SMB traffic. Microsoft identifies the freed-memory reuse in the SMB Server Network Transport Driver but has not disclosed the affected request, object, or code path. No authentication is required, but exploitation requires user interaction and high attack complexity before attacker-controlled code runs.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
