Root command execution via unsanitized session name

OS command injection in Research and Engineering Studio on AWS 2025.03 through 2025.12.01 grants remote authenticated users root command execution. When a virtual desktop session is stopped and resumed, RES embeds its user-controlled session name in an SSM command executed on the EC2 host without adequate validation or sanitization. A valid RES account and a crafted session name are required; successful exploitation runs arbitrary commands with root privileges on the virtual desktop host.
