Hidden file injection via listing-extraction desynchronization

Archive parsing in GNU tar on Red Hat Enterprise Linux allows context-dependent attackers to inject hidden files through crafted archives. For symlink, character-device, block-device, and FIFO entries with nonzero sizes, listing skips payload blocks while extraction interprets them as new headers. Exploitation requires a crafted archive to be inspected and then extracted; attacker-controlled files are written although the listing omits them.
