Local privilege escalation via unchecked buffer writes
Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026
Out-of-bounds writes in the Android kernel allow local users with System execution privileges to gain higher local privileges. Google has not published the affected functions; multiple locations write beyond buffer bounds because required bounds checks are absent. Exploitation requires existing System execution privileges, needs no user interaction, and is limited to Pixel-family-specific builds.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
