Network denial of service via flow timeout race
Published Jul 9, 2026 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Race condition in the PFE of Juniper Networks Junos OS on SRX Series allows remote attackers to interrupt forwarding or trigger a reboot. During flow removal, concurrent timeout handling can assign more than 10,000 seconds instead of 3 seconds, causing invalidated sessions to accumulate without manual clearance. Exploitation is unauthenticated and network-based, but the triggering timing is outside attacker control; exhaustion stops forwarding or crashes flowd and reboots the device.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
