Layer 2 service interruption via pointer-range error

Pointer-range error in Juniper Networks Junos OS and Junos OS Evolved allows local users to crash l2ald via an operational CLI command. The fileio library returns a pointer outside its expected range while l2ald handles specific show l2-learning or show ethernet-switching requests. Low-privileged CLI access on affected EX, QFX, or MX devices is required; the crash temporarily interrupts all Layer 2 services until l2ald automatically restarts.
