Authenticated code execution via unchecked sprintf write
Published Apr 6, 2026 · Updated Apr 6, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda CX12L 16.03.53.12 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted page parameter. The fromRouteStatic function passes the user-controlled page value to sprintf, which writes it into a fixed 256-byte stack buffer without a length check. Network access to /goform/RouteStatic and low-privilege credentials are sufficient; the overwrite can corrupt memory, crash the web service, or redirect execution.
