Path traversal in Veeam Backup & Replication 13 appliances allows local users to gain root access through the Veeam Updater. Veeam identifies the Updater component and CWE-22 but does not disclose the affected path-handling operation or attacker-controlled pathname. The flaw is limited to Linux-based Software and Infrastructure Appliances, requires high local privileges, and does not affect Windows backup servers.
