Host file access via unset workspace boundary
Published Sep 14, 2026 · Updated Sep 14, 2026
Path traversal in PraisonAI before 4.6.59 allows remote authenticated users to read and modify host files via prompt-influenced tool calls. The CODE_TOOLS wrappers pass a null workspace to read_file, search_replace, and apply_diff, whose containment checks run only when the workspace value is truthy. Exposure requires those tools to process untrusted content before set_workspace runs, and access remains limited to files available to the PraisonAI process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
